Sneak Peaks

I'm getting very organised and have my Secret Santa Christmas Swap all finished and ready to be sent to the lucky recipient. But of course I can't show you anything only these sneak peaks.

I've also got some family sewing started too and now I've had a commission job.

I have twin 2nd cousins who will celebrate their first Christmas this year and a Great Nephew so I've been asked to make some Santa Sacks.

I've started with the names and will appliqué them all tonight (well start)
I think they look sooooooo cute.

Christmas Preparations

In between, Halloween visitors & Fright Night (my daughter had some friends around to watch horror movies all night)
The only Halloween visitors that we had treats for....
I did manage to get some more sewing done with the leftovers from the Coin Quilt

I cut up some Thimbleberries - Lakeside charm packs to make some placemats for family for Christmas. Now I just have to finish them. This is always my challenge. I love getting tops of things made but not quick to finish them.

After finally getting my husband home today, we even ventured out for a ride on the Harley. Gosh, not real comfortable when it's about 30oC. Bit hot when you're dressed in black. Enjoyable ride just the same.....

Early to bed tonight.....

My First Coin Quilt

Last night I had an empty house of all children and one husband.....
What does one do? Sew of course.
I've been admiring Coin Quilts from blogs for ages now.
Chookyblue reminded us the other day that we should have started making or made something with our Fat 1/4 Birthday Swap presents. Aggg..... I haven't started anything. So all of these fabrics are presents from my Fat 1/4 buddies.

Of course there was a lot of purple so that was where I started.

Began cutting, ironing & sewing last night and finished it this morning. Took me about 8 hours.
The white fabric that is the borders comes from the huge parcel my Sister-In-Law gave me.....

I used THIS pattern/tutorial but extended it as I had heaps of leftovers and as we have a tall person in the house now, I thought it would get used more if it was longer.

Not sure how I'm going to finish it off yet.
I do have polar fleece that I haven't used for another project yet?

More Knitted Wash Cloths

Hello Everyone,
You may think I've been sitting around doing nothing!
Well you'll be pleased to know I HAVE NOT.
I can manage a bit of knitting around my busy life.
I'm on a roll with these lovely knitted wash cloths.
I can manage to get one finished in just a couple of nights in front of the tv.

This is using verigated cotton I received from Oddbjorg, my Secret Santa Swap Partner from last year. It knitted up beautifully.

This cotton I found in my Mum's stash. It is Cleckheaton Oasis.

You can't see it very well but it is bobbly.

Great as a loofer in the shower.

My busy life is full of work (of course - BAS time again)
This weekend we've had the boys stay.
I took them on the XPT train yesterday, they had an Open Day. We had a ball. First time they've been on a train like this.
They loved walking through the train while it was going. This also included free face painting and free jumping castle.

Yes it was hot enough for swimming yesterday

The day also contained bike riding, skate park, birthday present shopping, water park, bbq dinner & finished with sleeping in the caravan. PHEW! I'm exhausted.

Now for today (Sunday), motorbike riding (if it doesn't rain) and a Car Show.

I do get to visit all your wonderful blogs but don't usually have a lot of time to comment.

Lots of lovely craft to make me envious/jealous.....

Homespun Magazine

I'm a bit behind with my Homespun magazines.
I ordered a subscription which ended up taking three months to start.
So I then needed to go looking for August & September
Thank goodness it was easier than I thought.

Kim from Honeysuckle Cottage had them available & I received them in just two days.

I won a Giveaway

Yes, like I said in the last post, I won Janelle Wind's Giveaway.

Her Audrey Bag Pattern is gorgeous.

Now I will find some fabric and make this lovely bag but I'm not promising WHEN?

I can't rush these things.

Thanks for just a generous giveaway Janelle.
